The Penguins announced yesterday that they have signed right winger Tim Wallace to a two year entry level contract. Wallace played for both Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling last year averaging 0.438 points per game at Wilkes Barre and 0.895 points per game at Wheeling.

Pens Want to Keep Recci And Roberts

Both players become free agents July 1st. And the Penguins want to keep both if at all possible. Sure, the prospect of two men who will be 40 and 41 respectively next year might not light your world on fire until you realize that they are probably two of the best conditioned athletes in the league and have adapted nicely to the “new NHL”.

Crosby Named Sporting News’ Player of the Year!

Sidney Crosby is going to need a lot of shelf space for all the awards he is sure to win during his career. And today he can add another as His Sidness was named by the Sporting News as the magazine’s Player of the Year. Crosby got 110 of the 210 total votes.
