When Jarkko Ruutu (5) scored just 1:30 into the game for the Penguins the crowd went wild and remained wild until Gionta (21) scored short handed for the Devils to tie the game at 1-1 seven and a half minutes later. After a back and forth couple of minutes and the Penguins failing to put any real pressure on Martin Brodeur I turned to my friend John and said, “They could score 7 if they would just shoot the puck. Brodeur is highly beatable tonight.”
