Marian Hossa (3) scored just 1:02 into the game to silence a ruckus crowd at Madison Square Garden. After that, a frustrated Jagr whined as he hooked Hossa and complained about what was clearly a penalty – but apparently his whining got the refs to also call a diving penalty on Hossa. Which is beyond me how you can have a penalty PLUS a dive.

But last night it sure seemed that way as the Pens threw everything they had at Henrik Lundqvist in the first period and still wound up down 1-0 when it ended. Martin Straka (2) scored on the power play with Whintey in the box for high sticking for the period’s lone tally.
