Some of the Rangers whined after game one that Sidney Crosby was a diver because Straka clearly interfered with him and the subsequent power play lead to the goal that won the game.  Early in game 2 Crosby was mugged in the corner and that lead to even more whining by the Rangers about how he dove again according to reports.  Maybe if the Rangers would stop concocting stories and excuses for losing they would stop losing.  Although I certainly hope they do neither!

Today’s game was a contest where Henrik Lundqvist carried the Rangers.  He had to because Pittsburgh assaulted in and by all rights were robbed by him on many occasions.  At the other end of the ice, Marc-Andre Fleury played well and made saves when he had to but he faced nothing like the pressure the Penguins put on his counterpart.

The game was a back and forth contest until more than halfway throught the second when Jordan Staal (2) buried a feed from Geno to put the Penguins up 1-0.  It was a lead that was precarious at times but held up.

Adam Hall (1) added an empty netter at the end to make it 2-0 after the Penguins were forced to kill off two penalties, survive the extra attacker after the goal tender was pulled, and get a whistle that disallowed what would have been a Rangers goal.

The Rangers were frustrated and it showed when at the end of the game Avery and Hall went at it with zeros on the clock.

Game 3 is Tuesday night in New York where the Penguins have not fared at all well this season.
