Penguins Better Without Hossa

Ok, now that the free agent flurry is basically over let’s talk. Hossa, Ruutu, Malone, Roberts, Hall and Conklin are gone. I hate to see Ruutu go, but he is replaceable. Malone? Well, never discount how much people will overpay for a guy who had one pretty good season playing on a line with the second best talent in the league (think Michelle Ouellet).

Looking forward to next year, the Pens still need that scoring winger to play along side of Sidney Crosby. Marian Hossa may be that winger but is going to command a pretty penny that gets prettier by the day and as the deeper the Penguins go into the playoffs.

Sidney Crosby will return to the lineup for the second time since suffering a high ankle sprain. His Sidness returned from the injury only to aggravate it and miss a few more games.

Rob Rossi of the TRIBUNE-REVIEW is trying to tackle concerns that Malkin is not as good of a player when Sidney Crosby is in the lineup. He’s given a lot of time to Penguins who dismiss the concerns like Sergei Gonchar:
