Penguins Better Without Hossa

Ok, now that the free agent flurry is basically over let’s talk. Hossa, Ruutu, Malone, Roberts, Hall and Conklin are gone. I hate to see Ruutu go, but he is replaceable. Malone? Well, never discount how much people will overpay for a guy who had one pretty good season playing on a line with the second best talent in the league (think Michelle Ouellet).

Sidney Crosby will return to the lineup for the second time since suffering a high ankle sprain. His Sidness returned from the injury only to aggravate it and miss a few more games.

I said that I would like to see the Penguins bring in one more scorer for the playoffs but I have also said that they should get someone under contract if they did. I also said that they mess with this team’s chemistry at their own peril. Well they did half of my first statement when they sent Armstrong and Christensen along with Angelo Esposito and a draft pick to Atlanta to land the big fish of the day in Marian Hossa.
